About the Author
Joseph A. Micucci, PhD, ABPP, is Professor of Psychology at Chestnut Hill College in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he has taught courses in psychological assessment, adolescent development, and family therapy. He has been on the staff of North Memorial Medical Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and the Robert Wood Johnson, Jr., LIFEstyle Institute in Edison, New Jersey. He also served as Director of the Adolescent Unit and as Chief Psychologist at the Philadelphia Child Guidance Center. An Approved Supervisor for the American Association for Marital and Family Therapy, Dr. Micucci has a private practice in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania.

I used this text as the required reading for a college class on adolescent behavior in relation to family dynamics. Students liked the book and agreed that it is readable.
Great book, reasonably priced, decent time for shipping.
This book is informative and easy to understand. There is humor which makes it a pleasure to read.
Easy read
The book was a bit dry in getting the information to us. It had great information but is very technical.
Professor Dean Borgman provides clergy and compassion to the trouble youth in our societies .
I've purchased and read several books to help in providing solid family therapy for adolescents with clinical disorders. I have not found any thus far to be helpful. This book discusses specific theoretical orientations, provides a thorough understanding of adolescent development, and contextual family issues related to specific adolescent diagnosis including depression, anxiety, psychosis, eating disorders, and more. I believe the book successfully addresses the role the family plays in both development and maintenance of disordered behavior in teenagers while providing guidelines for its treatment. It is extremely readable which then makes it easily applicable to cases! I am thankful I got an email from Amazon recommending this book to me. I am not finished with the book, otherwise I'd have given it 5 stars. I'll provide an addendum upon completion!
