Having been a huge fan of the PBS House of Cards trilogy on cable television, VHS, then DVD, since its first airing, I decided I had to own the DVD trilogy for myself. Then I really got interested in author Michael Dobbs, and wanted to see for myself how the original written word translated into the screen versions I've enjoyed so much. I was not disappointed. Though the book and the screenplay different in detail (but what adaptation doesn't...) I truly enjoyed reading the Dobbs original. This is brilliant writing!
Compared to the other books in the trilogy this was a hard read.There were so many characters to keep track of. The ending was a complete surprise.
The final book in the trilogy did not disappoint. It is very well written and the characters are interesting and well developed. Sorry it is the final book in the series.
a very enjoyable series as i loved the ian richardson version in the 90's.. great read
House of Cards, an HBO series is based on this novel. I am glad that I watched the series first, because otherwise I would have found this book rather boring.
This is part of the trilogy, but I forget if this is the last or the 2nd. All three books are interesting and fun to read.
Jumping from storyline to storyline got tedious. Surprise ending a little contrived. Altogether, a satisfactory end to trilogy.
This was by far the weakest of the Cards trilogy. The book started so well but then fell away badly. What a pity!
